Ann Caro Begins Term as President of NSW Secondary Principals’ Council for 2026–2028

The NSW Secondary Principals’ Council (SPC) is pleased to announce Ann Caro as its President for the 2026–2028 term. Ms Caro is a practising secondary school principal at Chifley College Senior Campus and has previously served as SPC Deputy President and Executive Member. She brings to the presidency a strong record of leadership and advocacy for public education in NSW.

“The 2026–2028 Executive has made a collective pledge to the principals we serve. Our commitment is clear: to advocate without hesitation for public education as a fundamental human right. Excellence, equity and opportunity for all is not an aspiration. It is the standard we hold ourselves to.”

— Ann Caro, President, NSW Secondary Principals’ Council

As President, Ms Caro will lead an Executive committed to addressing the issues most affecting school leaders and their communities, including principal workload, student wellbeing, workforce sustainability, and the conditions that enable high-quality teaching and learning in NSW public schools.

Her appointment comes at a significant moment for public secondary education in NSW. Under her leadership, the SPC will strengthen its focus on its three core pillars — advocacy, professional learning and support — to ensure NSW public schools continue to be places of excellence where every student can thrive.
